To the Editor:Re “Robert Pear, a Mainstay Times Reporter in Washington, Dies at 69” (obituary, nytimes.com, May 8):I am writing with sadness after hearing of the sudden death of Robert Pear. For decades Robert was the dean of health care writers. He earned this reputation out of complete dedication to detail and fairness and his breadth of knowledge of the politics of the health care industry. I would have loved to have read his Rolodex and always assumed that it was the who’s who of health care leaders. The writer is a health care lawyer.
